Week 51 – Bright Lights

Lights shine on Mansfield Bluff

In retrospect, I maybe should have shot this photo in twilight. I also should have realized that, of course, the family who lives here would come driving home as I’m taking pictures of their house. And, finally, I am realizing that I might end up having 53 weeks this year. I’m not sure how that happened.

Week 50 – Getting Close

Ornaments and lights on a tree.

It’s weird to think I started this project around Christmas/New Year’s, and now here I am again getting close to that time. The tree went up this week, as did ornaments, and I feel like I may have been able to do something a bit neater with lights on a tree, but I wanted to highlight this specific one.

Week 26 – Visitors from Another Planet

A carousel twirls at twilight for a VBS carnival at Crossroads Baptist Church.

I co-ran a photo booth at last week’s VBS carnival at Crossroads. At one point, I was able to run around and take some pictures of various rides and attractions… I was able to get this shot, which I’m pretty happy with. Just a slightly longish exposure, nothing fancy.

Week 12 – Laser Bowling

Colin bowls (a strike?) at Main Event in The Woodlands.

I know I asked for suggestions for this week, and outdoorsy stuff was suggested, but this photo was too good to pass up. I even got a picture of a squirrel! But small woodland creatures will have to wait until another week. Even though I’ve already posted a picture of Colin, I was impressed enough that I managed to get something useable when the bowling rink turned on its flashy lights that I threw it up here.

And is the focal point his head? If so, we’ll call that intentional.

Week 8 – School of Worship

The lead vocalist from the band "School of Worship" leads the singing for RUSH weekend in the student building.

This weekend was enjoyable, because it was our church’s yearly disciple now (what we call RUSH). I got to be a leader, and that was well and good, but I knew I would have a chance to get some decent photos. So I brought my camera! Alas, as I pulled it out of my bag, I realized that the main shutter had almost all gone– it didn’t have any soft touch response. Troublesome, but I still had the battery grip, and I was able to get this shot that I like of the leader singer belting it out.
