This photo may seem to have something in common with another photo taken previously this year. It very well may… but the previous photo was taken using a car for a tripod. This one was taken using a tripod. Note the shadows on the building. Try not to note the ridiculous blue aberration by the windows. I’ve certainly decided to ignore it.

Week 36 – Tonight, that dream dies
This is not the most well-exposed photo of the night, or the most well-focused, and it needed a lot of work in RAW. However, I like it because it seems to have a little bit of that something different, that heart, that a generic photo might not have. I did get some more generic, easy pictures at the Cagle wedding, but this one might be my favorite because it was hard. I suppose you could add in a marriage analogy there somewhere, but I’ll try not to cheapen it that way. This is just two elated people enjoying the night.
Week 25 – Friend Bird
I came home on Saturday night and this bird was sitting on the front porch of Chris’ house, right by the door. I was able to get nice and close for pictures, which made me think something wasn’t quite right with it. It didn’t mind the flashes and clicking. The following morning, the bird was still there, and equally unperturbed by my photographic endeavors. I assumed it would be dead once I returned from my tasks that day, but interestingly, it was gone. I’m really not sure what happened.
As an aside, anyone know what kind of bird it is? I don’t think pigeons usually come that color, but I could be wrong.
Week 19 – That’s no moon
This is exactly how the moon rose over the Waterway by the mall on Saturday night. There was no image compositing involved. Just trust me. I managed to expose it properly and get the moon looking nice with everything in the foreground. I promise.
Week 16 – Blue, Like Jazz
I went to see Blue Like Jazz on Friday, so I felt like getting some cool, Van Gogh-esque shot of stars and lights and sky. That more or less failed.
However, I did get this shot of The Goose’s Acre that I enjoy enough. And a pub seems to go along with my hoped-for Blue Like Jazz theme.
