Week 38 – Going for Grass

Luke tosses his bocce ball while his dad and brother look on.

This week I was presented with the chance to shoot sports, which is something I heartily enjoy doing. It just happened that the sports happened to be a game of bocce ball played by my family in the backyard. I was still able to get a sense of action in the ball and Luke’s hand, which is something I was aiming for, so that’s nice– mission accomplished on that front!

I have no recollection of the result of this throw.

Week 28 – Fireworks

This past week (on the 4th of July) my best friend decided she would like to spend the rest of her life with me. I was pretty happy about it. Shawna was crying, but they were happy tears, so it’s all good.

I’m arguing this is my photo of the week because I was an active participant, even though I didn’t take it. Plus, I was proposing, so that. If you really want to see a photo that I took this week, check here: the Fourth of July parade includes many special dignitaries.

Fogg took this image. Considering that he had half a second to get in place and shoot, I think it turned out really exceptional.

Week 1 – Connectivity

Connectivity

Megan and Shawna Skype into the holidays.

Hopefully this photo will set a precedent for my 52 project— namely, that my photos will all be interesting and eye-catching. Technically sound photos are nice, and with practice more of my photos will be so, but I think that part of the point of this yearlong plan is to take pictures that people like looking at, not just that people can look at.

Here’s hoping to a photographically fun new year!
